Tatiyana Innocent, one of two Entrepot Secondary School students injured in the accident in Cas En Bas has successfully undergone surgery and is now working towards regaining her mobility.
Her father, Richard Innocent, said her condition has improved thanks to the care given by the medical staff at the Owen King European Union Hospital.
“We appreciate the dedicated services that the nurses are giving us thus far,” he said.
“My daughter has successfully gone through the surgery. We would like to extend our appreciation for Mr Damian Greaves [Millennium Heights Medical Complex CEO] and the staff of the pediatric ward.”
Tatiyana continues to face mobility challenges following the procedure and is undergoing physiotherapy.
“We are hoping for the best,” her father said. “The therapy team has been trying to work with her from yesterday to see if she can start coming off the bed, so she can try to get a little accustomed to the iron in her leg for walking.”
