Belrose Says UWP ‘Coming Back To Be Stronger Than Ever’

Former government Minister Fortuna Belrose told reporters on Monday that the United Workers Party (UWP) was regrouping after its election defeat to emerge stronger.

“We’re coming back to be stronger than ever to remove this incompetent government,” Belrose asserted.

She explained that, as a result, there would be differences on a few issues.

“But eventually, we’ll be back,” she declared.

Belrose made the comments after stating that she was unaware of divisions within the ranks of the UWP.

“I am not aware that there are divisions. You have an organisation and within any organisation you would always have people with different views, different perspectives on issues,” Belrose explained.

“I think that is what is happening,” she asserted.

“People differ, but at the end of the day the conviction is the same, that the United Workers Party needs to regain the seat of government to put this country back on course,” Belrose said.

The incumbent UWP lost July 26, 2021, general elections, which the Saint Lucia Labour Party (SLP) won by a landslide.

The election saw the UWP holding only two of the 11 seats it formerly had in the 17-seat House of Assembly.

  1. Hahaha stronger in what way ?? More land selling or more guy joseph . My lady you cannot become stronger with the same losers .

  2. Your doctrine turned a lot of people off. It doesn’t seem that your mindset has changed since so if this comeback is to happen, one of the things the party needs to do is get rid of you.

  3. Belrose my friend. Of course there are issues within the UWP. And serious ones.

After the passing of Sir John the UWP has shown an inability to be cohesive, loyal and not obsessed with individual agendas.
King snake is the worst example of this Judas like character.
The UWP has been rife with persons on constituency teams fighting down MPs , looking for their own cut of the pie and even sabotaging the party itself. Every man for himself. Then again this is the party that once enbraced Fredericks and you have to cry when you see the individuals on your management team! Lol!
The SLP on the other hand in spite of their gross incompetence, immorality, even criminality stick together like a communist party.
Unfortunately Chastanet’s attributes can also be his downfall. The nice guy persona to get what he wants should be combined with calculated toughness in dealing with certain types of adversity. Time to be a man and not a buoy!
You have to cringe when you saw him for 5 years playing up to the insultive incompetent King when we all knew what that Judas was doing.
When you look at the low level characters attempting to control the party it is a joke when you consider the cohesive evil they face in the SLP.
You better get your act together as an incompetent SLP will still ‘buss yu xxx’ in elections if you keep infighting.

  4. I can not believe a character like Osie Boy whose unethical resume speaks for itself (go back in time and soul search dude) is involved in politics in St. Lucia ???????????—anything goes.
