The CCJ Accession Committee of St Lucia has announced plans for a press conference at the GIS studios on Tuesday January 31st 2023 at 10 am.

This event is a follow-up to an initial media engagement in September last year, shortly before the first reading in the House, of the Constitutional Amendment Bill of St Lucia.

The draft legislation makes provision for St Lucia’s transition from the British Privy Council to the Caribbean Court of Justice. Upon completion of the legal and constitutional process the CCJ will be officially recognized as St Lucia’s jurisdiction final appellate court.

Tuesday’s news conference will also mark the commencement of a public education and visibility drive which will take the form of a Town Hall Meeting series.
