A school shooting in the US city of Nashville, Tennessee, left six people dead, three of them pupils aged nine or under.
The tragedy occurred at Covenant School, a privately run Christian institution.
Police said the suspect in the shooting was 28-year-old Audrey Hale, identified as transgender.Â
Hale had at least two semi-automatic rifles and a handgun and was shot dead by the police.
The attack was America’s 129th mass shooting of 2023, according to Gun Violence Archive, a non-profit that tracks gun violence data.
