Semi Finals Of SLFA President’s Cup Conclude

The semi finals of the SLFA Inc. President’s Cup took place on Thursday 11th May at the Dennery Playing Field.

In the first semi final, DCYO pulled off all the stops to defeat NYAH FC 1 – 0 in a hard fought encounter.

In the first half, DCYO, missed a Josh Hunte penalty, due to a brilliant save by the NYAH
custodian Racey Demille. However, in the 62nd min, Elijah Joseph sealed the initiative with a peach of a goal.

In the other semi final, Big Players surged into an early lead with a penalty taken by Lincoln Phillips in the 31st min. This advantage was soon nullified as William Cenac responded with two quick goals in the 36th and 40th min, as the half ended 2 – 1 in
favour of Faith United.

Despite, valiant opportunities by both teams in the second half no further goals were scored as Faith United ended victorious 2 – 1.

Meanwhile, the Troy Greenidge Pre-season Club Championship kicks off from next week Tuesday 16th May.

The following teams will be participating namely New Generation, Monchy United FC , Northern United All Stars , GMC United from Gros Islet, 1987 All Stars Sports & Cultural Club from Anse La Raye and the Gros Islet Veterans.

All matches take place at the Gros Islet PlayingField.

Elsewhere, the launch of the High Performance Center for the Eastern Zone is scheduled to be unveiled on Saturday 13th May at the Desruisseaux Playing Field.

Participants are expected from the following Football Leagues, Mabouya, Dennery, Mon
Repos, Micoud and Desruisseaux.

The activity will run from 10. 00 am – 12.00 noon
