Sunday, 14th, May (Mother’s Day) at the Phillip Marcellin Grounds from 12:00 noon to 7:00pm.

Sunday’s event is one of five (5) strategic interventions that the Committee has committed to.

The others are: a Cultural Expose, a Discussion Forum, a Vieux Fort Shopping & Sales Day and a Counselling Support and Training Symposium.

The upcoming activity like the overall campaign is geared towards injecting a positive “spirit” and “image” into the community.

The Family Fun and Sports day is a free event which will feature: Games and pleasure activities for kids and teens, entertainment, Counselling Support, Recognition of 14 Mothers from Vieux Fort, Information Sharing and Dissemination, Eats & Drinks, Presenting of Attractive Prizes and Vouchers, Live Performance by Alley Kyatt of his popular theme song for the campaign – “Vieux Fort will Rise Again”.

The event will culminate with a grand Unity Football Match between two teams from the South.

The Vieux Fort Rising Again Campaign was initiated as an off-shoot of the Good Morning Saint Lucia Television Show and is being managed and implemented by a ten (10) person Working Committee of respected community leaders.

The campaign has also secured the support and blessings of Parliamentary Representative Dr. Kenny Anthony and the Royal St Lucia Police Force.

To date the campaign has benefited from the partnership support of over 23 indigenous Vieux Fort and national private sector entities.

The objectives of the Vieux Fort Rising Again campaign are:

– Highlight the relevant history, positives and achievements of Vieux Fort
– Pinpoint the resilience of Vieux Fort.
– Facilitate Dialogue and Relationship Building between the Police and community
