Vehicles On The Road Hindering DIPT Bret Damage Assessment

The presence of vehicles on the road is hindering the damage assessment of the Department of Infrastructure Ports and Transport (DIPT) concerning Tropical Storm Bret.

The disclosure came Friday from the DIPT Deputy Permanent Secretary, Lenita Joseph.

“The Department of Infrastructure Ports and Transport has deployed its teams to undertake initial damage assessment to facilitate reports to NEMO,” Joseph noted.

“However, efforts are being hindered by the number of vehicles on the road, some of which are still in unsafe condition for travel,” she explained.

Joseph encouraged people to call the DIPT Command Centres regarding damage details to expedite the assessments.

“We are therefore urging the public to await the all clear before venturing out,” she said.
