Saint Lucia Herbal Cooperative Announces Membership Drive

On 20th May 2023, (THC) The Herbal Cooperative, with its formal name being given; The Herbal Worker, Consumer Cooperative Probationary Society Limited, received registration at a small ceremony at the offices of the Cooperative Department.

Members of the interim board that were present were President Andre de Caires, vice president Emanuel Alexander, secretary Marcus Day, Treasurer Paul Francis floor members Aaron Alexander and Jonathan Isaac.

On July 4th, THC held their first meeting with founding Members at the SLBS premises where members were given short presentations by the interim board as well as the Registrar of Cooperatives, Ms. Althea Jean Charles and Mr. Andre Charles from SLBS.

The Cooperative was created to serve the members in the emerging cannabis industry.

As the name indicates, the Cooperative is not exclusively seeing to the needs of the cannabis industry, but to also capitalize on the wealth of the many different medical and culinary herbs that grow on the island.

THC will be starting its membership drive on Wednesday 26th of July, at the Monchy community center from 5pm to 7pm. We encourage interested persons to be present.

  1. This is a good step in the right direction. It is time that this herb be decriminalised (our past Caribbean govts were hoodwinked into “justifying” marijuana as a “dangerous drug” – just so that the Caribbean could get assistance from the ignorant USA and other “developed” countries) and brought out into the light as a medicine along with other ‘bush medicines”.

  2. How clever is it to name your organisation The Herbal Collective (THC) for the substance THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol) found in the marijuana plant. If that ain’t proof that smoking the weed giveth wisdom, I don’t know what is…the irony was not lost on me…

  3. I think the picture depict that the group was under the influences because of the utensil factor and the center of attraction of certain individual. The drive might be meaningful but also consuming herbs unregulated can have serious consequences. THC… the abbreviation tells a different story… common don’t exposed yourself to cheaply.

  4. IN THE PICTURE Rastaman drinking water in a plastic bottle and for more words placing a paper cup in front of him. Fortunately there wasn’t a banner with the name of the group. Just a reminder anyway it’s about ” HERBS”

  5. @Picture Worth a Thousand Words … the photographer couldn’t care less!! Some photographers are not that savvy to pay attention to “The Picture” details. Just shows how observant he/she is … It is a very poorly presented picture.
