WATCH: Health Minister Urges Support For Breastfeeding Mothers

Health Minister Modes Jn Baptiste has urged support for breastfeeding women from employers, partners, family, friends, and caregivers in a message to mark World Breastfeeding Week.

Saint Lucia has joined in the August 1-7 observance.

The theme for this year is “Enabling Breastfeeding: Making a Difference for Working Parents.”

According to the Saint Lucia Health Minister, breastfeeding support is essential for good nutrition for infants from birth to 2 years and beyond. 

In this regard, he has encouraged mothers to breastfeed for as long as possible.
