The U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Valiant crew seized or assisted in seizing $30 million in illegal drugs during a 49-day deployment in the Atlantic Ocean, Caribbean Sea, and Florida Straits.

The vessel returned to its home port at Naval Station Mayport last week.

Its drug interdiction operations included intercepting one go-fast vessel with over 97 pounds of cocaine.

Valiant also assisted two people at sea during separate search and rescue cases.

In addition, Valiant’s crew engaged in migrant interdiction operations and embarked and cared for over 50 migrants in the Florida Straits.

The vessel’s Operations Officer, Lt. Kristian Sova, described its 49-day patrol as exceptional.
