Saint Lucia Court Orders Grenadian Caught With Ammunition To Pay Fines Or Go To Jail

A Grenadian caught at Saint Lucia’s George F.L. Charles airport with twenty-five rounds of .22 calibre ammunition pleaded guilty in court and must pay fines or go to jail.

Police had charged Francis David Lincoln Richards with Possession of Ammunition and Attempting to Export Ammunition.

On Wednesday, October 25, 2023, he pleaded guilty to both charges when he appeared before the First District Court.

As a result, the court imposed fines of $20,000 for Possession of Ammunition and $10,000 for Attempting to Export Ammunition.

Richards must pay within one month or spend six months in prison.

Officers had arrested the 43-year-old Grenadian national on Friday, October 6, 2023.

He had a scheduled flight to depart Saint Lucia when the police held him.

  1. Why the Grenadian cour case could be done in a hurry and none of the Lucian gun cases cannot be heard?
    Shame on you senior Magistrate. I have no confidence in the courts anymore.
