Pierre Gets 100 Percent Vote Of Confidence From SLP Delegates

The National Council of the ruling Saint Lucia Labour Party (SLP) voted overwhelmingly on Sunday to retain Philip J. Pierre as leader.

Delegates met in the closed session to receive annual reports and cast their vote of confidence for the political leader.

The secret vote tally was 268 to 0.

“For the second time, I was given a 100% vote of confidence,” Prime Minister Pierre stated.

Writing on Facebook, the SLP leader explained that delegates cast their ballots every three years during the ruling party’s constitutional process.

“I am grateful for all the support, guidance, and strength as this administration continues to espouse the principles of Bread, Freedom, and Justice for all Saint Lucians,” the Castries East MP stated.

Speaking to reporters on the margins of a Cabinet meeting on Monday, Pierre asserted that the vote represented approval for what his party leadership and government are doing.

He said he would continue what the SLP started and adhere to the party’s ‘mantra’ of putting people first.

“That remains my singular, most important objective – to put the people of Saint Lucia first,” the PM stated.

The people of Castries East have elected Pierre as MP on six consecutive occasions, for which he said he was grateful.

  1. Choopse. Having seen the mental deficiency the red kool aid causes, I am in no way surprised. His red star struck supporters cheer when their democratic rights are taken away through the denial of a referendum, they cheer when they are taxed though not understanding what compounding is, they cheer when a certain minister attacks women and the press, they cheer when a single pot hole is patched yet say that road repairs are unnecessary when they are in opposition, they cheer when beautiful state owned waterfront land is sold for nothing to be used for sand importation by their comrade yet they curse when private land in receivership for over a decade is sold to create a world class golf course; even though the very same aforementioned sand importing comrade is the biggest contractor on site. They complain about direct awards only when in opposition but are veglayed to the direct awards happening every day whilst their party is in power. They love that an arbitary minister of mouth is able to access police files and openly boast about it. They cheer for censorship, arrogance and deceit and support racist rhetoric.

  2. Well Pee on Em, if you receive 100% of the vote, then it appears you only have yes men and yes women… people who don’t challenge your leadership….I would be worried if I were you…100% suggests that your leadership is impeccable…which it obviously isn’t…but carry on we continue to observe and scrutinize….

  3. Putin the Rusian President receives %100 every time; the day one of his closes generals had enough and decided to do something about it; mistakenly decided not to finish the job but rather was flying off on a jet; BANG:- not every one is that stupid; my advise to you is, sleep with one eye closed and one eye opened. This is St. Lucia, anything can happen anytime while we still prefer to have you now than the alternative, so pray.

  4. How can he still say putting the ppl first when MASSY is leading by far…gas prices is highest in entire CARICOM…the only first he’s putting the ppl is to pay debts on inconceivable borrow monies that fatten,s them and their counterparts that voting 100% pockets….it’s a fact that red is for red and not necessarily for country.
