Saint Lucia Fire Service (SLFS) emergency personnel responded to a report that a vehicle struck a pedestrian in Vigie, Castries.

SLFS spokeswoman Stacy Joseph disclosed that the emergency responders found the victim on the road in the presence of bystanders.

“An assessment revealed that he was unconscious,” Joseph said.

She also revealed that he had abrasions and lacerations.

Joseph said the responders transported the patient to the OKEU Hospital and handed him over to medical personnel in a critical state.

The incident occurred on Friday at about 11:30 pm.
