On Tuesday, January 16, 2024, about 1:40 p.m. the Gros-Islet Police Station received a report of a shooting at Bonne Terre, Gros-Islet.
A male was observed lying unresponsive on the main road, with apparent gunshot injuries. Emergency Medical Technicians from the Saint Lucia Fire Service attempted to resuscitate the victim but were unsuccessful.
The individual was later confirmed deceased by a medical practitioner.
The victim has been identified as fifty-eight-year-old (58) Eric Jean Heinis of Bonne Terre, Gros-Islet.
