Saint Lucia Records Three COVID-19 Deaths For 2024

Saint Lucia recorded three COVID-19 deaths during the period January 15-25, 2024, prompting hospitals to go on the alert.

The disclosure came in a Ministry of Health, Wellness and Elderly Affairs statement on Monday.

In the statement, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Sharon Belmar-George noted increased hospitalizations and deaths due to COVID-19 in the last 14 days.

She also noted increased people presenting with flu-like illnesses at Emergency Departments, Wellness Centers, and private doctors’ offices.

“This is due to new COVID-19 variants, Influenza A and B and Respiratory Syncytial Virus,” Belmar-George explained.

  1. Wait, so covid is now Influenza which is the same Influenza we had before covid?
I hope my question not a stupid one, am just a normal unprofessional person who seeking clarification on your latest scripted narrative.

  2. @Confused… yes yes and yes Sherlock but take your chance of it “been normal “ go ahead Teflon Don. I just took the update I feel ok nothing fell off. My late mother who was a retired nurse she use to think just like you, even when spoken to by her colleagues.

  3. Oh Really is the first. Can’t believe you people still lack the critical thinking after the con of the last 3 years.

  4. Is it really Covid-19 or the next pLandemic called ‘Disease X’?

But I’m not a doctor, so what do I know?

  5. @mass formation, you said the vaccinated would die out in two years, turn into crocodiles, will go hell etc. so shut it.

  6. Covid is still around everywhere in the world. Even in the ‘developed’ world, people are still dying from it. Mostly the elderly or those with underlying health conditions, so while you may not get sick or die, some people do and that could be your mother, father or grandparents so have some consideration for them… And @confused for your info (which I’m sure you do know, but like to stir) Influenza virus, like Covid mutates regularly…

  7. Oh Really.

Athletes dropping dead all over the place. Young people dying suddenly. Fertility rates dropping. Turbo cancers. You’ve been indoctrinated yet you’re not smart enough to see that. I would suggest you go check your heart. Myocarditis ain’t easy. Tick tock.

  8. @Mass Formation, so before covid, athletes did not just drop dead on the field of play, young people were not dying, fertility rates were not already low and what is turbo cancer ? I think you were born just yesterday.

  9. I do not know what people think was going to happen with Covid-19? New virus killing people and spreading like wildfire and we were supposed to do nothing, people didn’t want to wear masks and social distance, didn’t want to take the vaccine, just wanted to continue living life and having fun like nothing was going on at the time. All major crises have after effects at least the world didn’t end and life goes on.

  10. if u have never experienced flue that make u feel closing to dying and u get to understand why people die from it, then shut up! and u dont have to have underlying conditions for it to get bad. protect yourselves from covid.
