Saint Lucia’s Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Daasrean Greene, while highlighting the needs of the justice system, has disclosed that his office is doing its best amid limited resources.
“In terms of my office, we continue to try our best to ensure that the courts are populated with our cases, et cetera and that we continue to conduct the prosecutions of all of these matters,” Greene explained.
But he said it was a ‘very assiduous task.’
“We know that there are limited resources, but we are trying to do our best in all of the circumstances to complete these matters,” the DPP told reporters.
Regarding the justice system, Greene declared that there was a clear need for more courts, judges, magistrates, prosecutors, and defence attorneys at the criminal bar.
“This is definitely what is necessary in Saint Lucia so that we can actually get a significant bite into the backlog of cases before the courts,” the DPP said.
He disclosed that much of the technology used during the COVID-19 pandemic seemed to have worked very well to ensure continuity in the justice system.
Greene said the justice system had kept much of the technology despite the continuation of in-person court.
“We still have a lot of case management as it pertains to online and video link facilities,” the DPP stated.

1.0 “Daasrean Greene, while highlighting the needs of the justice system, has disclosed that his office is doing its best amid limited resources”
1.1 “We know that there are limited resources”
I notice you specially used the term “limited resources”. Based on what, the Deputy PM & PM spew from the mouth, that they know nothing about law and order, all they do is to try their best to make the resources available. You see in that context, nothing can or will ever be fix with these jargons, by using term that is plural in it states aka double sword wording that can be flip either way therefore if they are being drilled or taken to task those same term/words can be used against you. How? Because it is being used in too ambiguously manner.
State specifically what are those resources, manpower, computers, devices such as printer, paper, staple or money. How will you be able to fix your limited resources problem if the public/citizens can chip in by pressuring the administration to make it a priority?
Don’t forget the very words that comes from the mouth of the Deputy PM & PM are the very individuals who hold pinnacle positions governing these very limited resources sector/branch. Awa papa, please! please! don’t piss on my back and tell me its raining.
WOW boy DAzzy you need to leave that job sah. mama!!! You age 20 years 🙂
Greene just give up that job. U have been a total waste!!!!
Brother man u full of BS . Stop it.
This country always have limited resources in everything. Furthermore, there is no one that will fix St.Lucia justice system.
The justice system themselves is responsible for the crime taking place in the country. They keep giving criminals bail for serious offenses. And then complain.
Continue keep shooting yourselves in the foot till you bleed to death. Incompetence is what’s killing you.
CRIMINALS READ THE NEWS, THEY ARE AHEAD OF YOU GUYS ALL THE TIME , NOW THEY KNOW ITHEY WILL GET A SLAP ON THEIR HAND SO NOW CRIME WILL REVE UP.
Nothing but a puppet, being used by the politicians.
@janice you are spot on with your post ✅
even the blind can see the justice system is no deterrent to crime…it’s a crying shame.
