Mediators Forum (Saint Lucia) Inc. Holds Inaugural AGM

spot_img

The Mediators Forum (Saint Lucia) Inc. held its first Annual General Meeting at the Orchid Garden on Wednesday 10th April 2024.

Two major agenda items were: a) The adoption of the Company’s By-Law and b) the election of members to the Forum’s Management Committee.

The Forum’s members unanimously adopted the By-laws.

An important consequence of this action is that Forum members know unambiguously how the Forum’s business will be conducted.

Equally importantly, the members will also know the business in which the Forum can engage.

The Company’s By-Law makes provision for the election of five officers. Four of these officers were elected unopposed: Fortuna Anthony as President, Yolanda Jules-Louis as Vice President, Urban Dolor as Secretary and Rumelia Dalphinis-King as Assistant Secretary.   Ms. Marlene Alexander was elected Treasurer.

The elected officers and the director (Mr. Tedburt Theobalds) will constitute the Management Committee.

Ms. Marva Daniel served as the Presiding Officer for the elections.  The overall and compelling consensus is that it would be impossible to find a more competent, engaging and pleasant Presiding Offer.

The Management Committee thanks Ms. Daniel for the way she competently managed the Forum’s election.

The name Francis Compton has been synonymous with mediation in Saint Lucia and the OECS.

We are pleased to report that the Forum conferred an honorary membership upon Mr. Compton for the sterling mediation-related work he did in the region.
