Saint Lucia’s homicide toll so far in 2024 increased to 32 with the fatal shooting of a man in his twenties at Grande Riviere, Gros Islet.
Another man sustained gunshot injuries hours earlier in a separate incident.
Police have identified the deceased as Kervon Adonis, 25, also known as Schoolie.
Emergency responders from the Gros Islet Fire Station responded at about 4:25 am Thursday and found the victim with no vital signs at the back of a house.
Police reported having formally charged Kervon Adonis and three other men in November last year for firearm and ammunition possession.
On Friday, November 17, 2023, the men appeared in court and received $20,000 cash bail with suitable surety and/or land documents on the firearm possession charge.
They also received $15,000 cash bail with suitable surety and/ or land documents.
In addition to the Kervon Adonis homicide, police are investigating a shooting incident at Piat, Grande Riviere, Gros Islet.
The Babonneau Fire Station responded on Wednesday at about 9:50 pm and transported a male to a medical facility.
The patient was in stable condition at the time.

There’s your proof!!! Much of the gun violence in the society revolves around, or is otherwise perpetrated by gunslingers out on bail!!!
The government will be enacting minimum wage in a few months . Isn’t that enough motivation for those young guys to get rid of the fire arms get a good job to provide for themselves and their families . I am appealing to the young men to get off the block and stop smoking weed get a nice hair cut and get a job ….
Let’s be honest, there is no police,no friend,no defender to defend you when the enemies come for you…..so why TF people beating their arsenal about he was given bail for gun possession, that same gun could of save his life…idgaf what alyuh think about ppl having illegal guns…I forward the motion so one can defend himself or family life but I do not endorse ppl using guns to randomly rob or kill ppl but I stand firm of you having even if an illegal one to defend oneself…..it’s high time citizens have the right to bare arms….the shitstem will never allow little malaway the right for legal firearms so I don’t blame them for owning illegal one’s.
John Public, you actually supporting possession of illegal firearms? Wll brudder man, you live by the sword, you go die by the sword. Tanto, tanto.
