Saint Lucia’s Jaelyn Henry returned home from a successful trip to St Vincent & Grenadines this weekend. Henry won the doubles title and made the singles final in the Chatoyer Cup Under 14 COTECC Tournament.
As the number one seeded player, she began her campaign with a commanding victory over Laila Harris from St Kitts & Nevis, dispatching her opponent with a flawless 4-0, 4-0 scoreline. She then faced Zahra Hypolite from St Vincent & the Grenadines, once again securing a decisive 4-0, 4-0 win.
In her first COTECC singles final, the young Saint Lucian faced a tough match against the number two seed, Shreya Rawat. She lost the first set 4-6, won the second set 6-4, and lost the third set 6-3.
Moving past the singles, she clinched her first COTECC doubles title with her partner Danelle Kennedy from St Vincent & the Grenadines, defeating the St Kitts & Nevis duo of Harris and Rawat in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4.
Hennry now moves on to compete in the Sagicor U14 Tournament at home this week.
