Saint Lucia into U15 finals

The fifth matchday in the 2024 Concacaf Girls’ U-15 Championship took place on Friday, as League C concluded its final round of matches in Round One. Games in League C are being played at the Guillermo P. Trinidad Stadium in Oranjestad, Aruba.

Saint Lucia have all but completed their comeback from adverse results in the two opening games. Amaya Emmanuel scored a hat-trick, Kyla Lionel was also on target, kicking the scoring off in the second minute of play to gift Saint Lucia a 4-2 win over French Guiana.

Emmanuel hit the back of the nets again twice on Friday. Her two goals (10’, 70’+3’) sandwiched a third from Makayla Joseph (68’), as Saint Lucia defeated Bonaire to secure its place in the League C Final.

Emmanuel now has seven goals for the competition, making her the top scorer in League C. Saint Lucia has booked a spot in the weekend final against hosts, Aruba. Aruba earned a 2-1 win over Guyana on Friday. Zyana Rogers scored a brace with goals in the 57’ and 65’.

Following a rest day on Saturday, the final will take place on Sunday. The first match of the day, scheduled for 9:00 am, will feature Guadeloupe against the Turks & Caicos Islands. Aruba’s final match against Saint Lucia is set for 11:00 am.
