Teenager Rushed To Hospital After Odlum City Chopping

A Saint Lucia Fire Service (SLFS) ambulance rushed a nineteen-year-old male to the OKEU Hospital after he sustained multiple injuries due to a chopping incident at Odlum City, Castries.

The young man sustained the injuries when another male assaulted him with a cutlass on Saturday.

SLFS responders learned of the chopping at about 9:47 am, provided emergency medical assistance to the victim, and continued doing so en route to the hospital.

He was in stable condition when the SLFS ambulance crew left him in the medical institution’s care.

  1. One thing that struck me after reading this editorial was my concern for the staff of the SLFS. Day in, day out the rush head long into the fray to assist criminals and victims alike. My concern is for the mental health of these brave men and women who attend these horrific injuries. Seeing people mangled in vehicular accidents, bullet ridden bodies, sliced flesh and everything in-between. I wonder how do they deal with the psychological trauma they no doubt experience. Hats off to you brave and courageous men and women of the SLFS who do a phenomenal job inspite of the difficulties on the ground. I ask that your constitution stays intact as you face the most deprived of human experiences.

  2. C-Wiz a Fireman/Emt from Castries fell completely off his rockers after being on duty when unbeknowngst to him, his call was to attend to the bullet riddled body of his gang banging sister who passed.

The job usually takes a toil on them and sometimes it just takes this one moment to mentally throw them off completely.

  3. I think it was some three years ago some well learned woman conducted an International Witches Conference in St. Lucia; Homicidal crime was nothing new, but it has escalated to heights unknown and unbelievable on an Island I’ve known when growing up to be the most peaceful place in the World. It is easy to say its the Gangs, the Drugs, the Laziness – but I believe it to be the UNGODLINESS plus the toleration of Devilish & evil Spirits widespread On the Island.
Why are the Churches silent on this matter? We are living at a time such as this that hell can/will break out any time in the Middle East and in the Orient. This is the time to Pray for your survival, the soon vanishing Tourism Industry. The lak of pay checks can/will bring chaos.

I don’t share your view that the dark arts are responsible for this decline in Saint Lucian society. But, granted that your strong religious adherence is very much a factor in your point of view, what is apparent is that the issues are closer to home than blaming it on some supernatural phenomenon for which there is no scientific proof. Witchcraft, shamanism, voodoo, Christianity in all its forms, all religions in it’s different forms are just the same thing sold in different bottles. You rightly attacked the church for its ineffectiveness because for centuries the church has sold itself as the answer to the problem when, in reality ( if one has to be honest) it’s the church who is the biggest obstacle to progress simply because it stagnates critical thinking, stunts reason, logic, rational and intellectual thought and as you to rely on some god in the sky. The issue we face as a society has nothing to do with the so called spiritual realm but has everything to do with the socio- politico- economic realities in our society. The answers are right where the problems are festering. The issue is, does society including the government, do they have the will power to effect change or are they just sitting on their glorified laurels by letting the problem get worse and worse to a point when it the situation is irretrievably. If prayer and the church had any ounce of power ( as they keep claiming they have a direct line and connection to god ) then atleast, society would have been positively affected by the churches supernatural power of prayer..but we see non of it. It’s the same pray, pray pray and nothing to show for it. In fact Christianity, including Easter, and Christmas, the eucharistic, baptism and many other Christian festivals are actually pagan festivals that has been reworked, repackaged and resold by Christianity to the masses….do some research..it’s all facts. Paganism was in existence since the dawn of humanity coming out of Africa millions of years ago. In fact paganism was anything the Christians deemed unchristian simply to tarnish the worshipers of other religions but then after thousands of years, Christianity took the same pagan festivities they called pagan, reworked them and sold it to gullible people. It’s called Syncretism. It’s nothing new, this has been happening from time immemorial…..we see the same thing in Cuba, parts of Africa and other parts of the world …and it’s usually in societies that are affected by severe socio economic ills…indeed belief in the supernatural is easy when all the ills are happening in the society in which one resides. If you study the history of Europe, you will clearly see how Christianity was responsible for the most depraved aspect of the Human condition. Today, the church is all nice and docile, WHY? Because the dominance of the church was challenged by men of reason, logic and rationality from since the 16th century and culminated in the 19th century with the enlightenment where science and reason took over the superstition of religion and irrationality that had kept Europe is the damp for thousands of years…of course the church still exists because it clearly serves a purpose in controlling the masses…. people often believe that if there was no church that a society was going to collapse in a quagmire of chaos but nothing is further from the truth… But the latest stats show (especially in the west) that people are gradually becoming more none religious. The writing is on the wall.

  5. @ Anonymous & Hmmm

Thanks for sharing. Yeap, our society really needs to be more mature in the way it does things. That said, I must admit, I feel a sense of hope that things will get better as I won’t give up on my beloved people. Let’s work together to make Saint Lucia a much better place…

  6. Those who is supposed to protect each other are the ones fighting against their own flesh and blood. You was supposed to guide your own nephew through whatever situation he is going through, not fight him down. Then again what to expect from you when your had no love and respect for your own mother , always cursing and disrespecting her. Claiming be be resta and sing conscious crap claiming to be music and is pure wickedness in your heart. According to you that was his judgment , judgment is for all. Yours coming too

  7. The word of God is a wall of protection to those who use it wisely and to make those who misues it stumble ❗
There are many churches that are not called, but the one that bears the name of the LORD, Stands Firms, the true worshipers (famally of GOD)..
When words are many sin is not absent and of little value..
We have heard in 🇱🇨 St Lucia
“Let us go to this dwelling place ;let us worship at his footstool..
Arise O LORD,and come your resting place,
for there the LORD bestowed his blessings, even forever more..
Have you ever heard an innocent perish, one who goes to church that bears the name of the LORD and listen to him ‼️

  8. This is so sad. No matter what was done, violence is never the answer. A Young man 19, what could he have done so horrible that you would chop your own family. You complained about the young man’s friends but you are even worse to be around than his friends. You complain but u did worse than he or any of his friends. So who are you to judge
