Driver Succumbs After Vehicle Incident

Police have confirmed the death of a driver after a vehicle accident on Tuesday.

Investigators have identified the deceased as Thomas Martial of Bexon, Castries. He was in his late sixties.

At about 10:00 pm, the Traffic Department in Castries received a report of a vehicular accident at Cul de Sac, Castries.

Officers discovered a badly damaged minivan near a concrete wall.

Emergency personnel from the Saint Lucia Fire Service (SLFS) conveyed the driver to the Owen King European Union Hospital (OKEUH), where a medical practitioner pronounced him dead.

  2. Again Its sad sad news all the time here. It had to take alot of speed to get that impact. So sad. Cant we have a week here incident free for once

  3. @shabin, he is my cousin his name is Christopher Augustin and he did succumb and passed away after being on life support machine for almost 3 weeks.

  4. I grew up in Marisule,I knew him personally, have no idea to what caused him to be So but he was once a normal person…RIP Chris……it’s almost like he wanted to vacate this earth…always walking in the road and not the sidewalks even at nights.

  5. @Docdell they are not charged for over speeding neither drunk driving in St. Lucia. You seem to be writing from out of the country. At the scene of all these accidents, no one checks whether drivers were at the wheel under the influence of alcohol. A rum shop at every corner. Even the policemen are there sometimes while on duty. With the state of things right now, good luck with your wish for an incident free week.

  6. Considering our road n highways n weather we we should seriously consider a change in our vehicle headlamps from white lights to yellow ‘ ah la Francais,, Martinique

  7. Why doesn’t a large community like Bexon still doesn’t have it’s own 🚒 fire station and police 🚓 station

  8. It’s sickening that we commoners always have the solutions compared to the authorities who have nothing to say or do…just worthless from the minister to the ps to the engineers. Why can’t there be a road safety drive? Why so many dangerous obstacles along our roads, why speed limit cannot be enforced….why drunk drivers are not charged…sad state of affairs…..rip to shabin fella who traversed the choc hill!
