SLP Supporters Urged To Help Protect Dr. Ernest Hilaire

On Saturday, Saint Lucia Labour Party (SLP) supporters heard calls to protect and support Castries South MP Dr. Ernest Hilaire.

The occasion was SLP Castries South Constituency Group’s Annual General Meeting in Ciceron, Castries.

“…I see what is happening here and the attack on your parliamentary rep—a relentless attack on our political leader, a relentless attack on the deputy… but brothers and sisters, I want to tell you, that you have voted Dr. Hilaire into office, you have to be the wall that is going to protect him,” Parliamentary representative for Soufriere, Emma Hippolyte told a gathering of red-clad constituents and supporters.

In his address, Dr. Hilaire declared his commitment to Castries South residents.

He also spoke of development projections that should come to fruition over the coming months and years.

According to Hilaire, a community centre will open over the next “few weeks”, construction of a playing field will be completed, and the location for a “modern health centre” will be confirmed—all of which will occur in Ciceron.

  1. If he is innocent why would he need protection, who is coming for him? Choooopz tun ,please start reporting on real pertinent news not political mischief smh

  2. Why do politicians require more protection? Right now the citizens of this country are the ones who need protection, protection from criminals, protection from corrupt government officials and their schemes. Dr. Hilaire has been involved in multiple controversies with CIP being the latest one and its a shame that we have this article here on such a day of celebration.

  3. Protect Hilaire? We needed to protect our vehicles on the Castries to Vieux Fort Road. Potholes like hell. Thanks to a motorcade for Alfred, the potholes are gone in quick time. Just goes to show that it had nothing to do with money – politicians are just wicked.

  4. Ok. Please come clean and provide answers to the questions asked. At this point we will provide protection. Until you stand alone with Uncle SAM.

  5. Is this the same guy who said he’s in government now. He can call shots to make things happen, ……. something to that effect….???

  6. I agree with all the comments so far. Why would the Constituents need to protect him?

Is Aunty Emma Taking in front before in front take? If Mr Hilaire is Innocent, which I am hoping he is, the truth and their lawyers, Tardee Antwaan etc, his friend will defend him. I do not appreciate the mind games that are being played on the vulnerable and marginalized people of Ciceron. Promises of nice things just before elections.

So Aunty Emma, it seems that you are well seated and safe in Soufriere already? Your business good, your body press?

What the people of Ciceron and St Lucia need is protection from teenagers and young men who possess guns as if they are cell phones.

Children need protection from sexual offenders, who are known by the Courts.

Pedestrians need protection from crazy motorists, by law enforcement and more police presence on the streets

Public servants need protection from political interference, from both political parties, when you have retired people just coming to take up prominent positions like Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Economic Affairs, depriving hard-working, qualified public servants an opportunity at an enviable job. Allan Chastanet hired a private company to prepare the national Budget (Estimates) and we justifiably had issues with that. Now, the shoe is on the other foot, nobody saying anything??? Lucians what really wrong with our deafening silence? ALLL the politicians have failed us, misled us, whether knowingly or unknowingly. The SLP convinced me that Hon Richard Frederick was such a criminal and a rogue to be feared … So I was really frightened of him. Now, this Minister, in the PM’s office (if you please) has more visibility and presence than the Prime Minister himself. So what should I beleive now my SLP comrades? Hon RF is reformed and a model citizen now that he is wearing RED?? Hmmm

    AMEN

  7. U all are grown men should be leaders u all can’t come together, what hope we have for the kids I am a labour man but dnt stand for these things. UWP u loose deal with it regroup and come back again.

  8. Is Hilaire still the district rep for Marigot? The residents of Marigot Terraces, the Cenac’s development are crying day and night due to the condition of the road and they are not seeing Hilaire. Please Hilaire visit the area, you will need their vote again. Richard talk to Hilaire.

  9. You all can’t even protect the citizens of this country and you all talking about protecting Hilaire.if you all say he has done nothing? Stop talking crap and do something about crime smh

  10. Mr. Hilaire, you are the Minister of the Ciceron Consistency, why didn’t you prepare better knowing that the dignitaries would pass through Ms. Alfred’s hometown, Ciceron. Where is your dignity? You ought to be ashamed of yourself. What made it worse was that it rained, making the place impassable. Come on Mr. Hilaire, you can do better than that.

  11. St Lucia times not putting all comments even though they talk truth on this. Anyways that will not save anyone. I think one group miss him but uncle Sam not missing him.
