Suspect In Custody After Fatal Stabbing Of Guatemalan Woman

Police say they have a male suspect in custody in connection with the fatal stabbing of a woman from Guatemala, identified as Sofia Munoz.

Investigators disclosed that Munoz was a Saint Lucia Animal Protection Society (SLAPS) intern who resided at Cap Estate.

Saint Lucia Fire Service (SLFS) personnel learned of the incident at 7:13 pm on Thursday when they received a physical assault report at Monier, Gros Islet.

At the scene, the responders found the deceased on her back in a pool of blood in a bathroom tub.

A twenty-four-year-old man also sustained physical assault injuries, including ‘multiple puncture wounds’.

According to the SLFS, he received treatment and transportation to a medical facility for advanced care.

Gros Islet police are continuing investigations into the incident.

  1. Mental health? Alot of them young ppl do a whole bunch of shate with themselves and blame the induced trauma on mental health! Pjll up your socks and panties, switch off social media, grow up and face life. These children are weak mentally, NOT mentally unstable. Most of them have perfectly wired brains, they are just wasting their life rotting their braincells off with social media, reckless intercourse, terrible diets, drugs, alcohol and hookah!

  2. while all was nice and peaceful for the week the devil looking for idle hands strike again. Again and it will another soon. cant a week go by without bloodshed here. So why they not puting the suspect name. Why the reporters here like hiding the name ,and even when he is charge we never see no photos of him. Thats why I like Vincy news. They have photos of the suspects and name, and are outside the courthouse for videos. I havent seen any reporters posting videos outside courthouse here in some years. They are more following the Ministers everywhere. choops

  3. @DocDell It is against a person’s Constitutional Rights Too disclose their identity if they have not yet being charged for an offense.
    If the law or media does it , the said individual has all rights to Sue the Government or Media Outlet if he did not get a Conviction for the crime.

  4. This comment about mental illness is cold. I am a mental illness sufferer and an advocate. I hope mental illness never shows up on your doorstep.

  5. St. Lucia – St. Lucia – St. Lucia, the good came bearing gifts of love & the good;
    What do you do? ‘STEAL KILL & DESTROY’, others came beforehand from a near by Island spreading dark unwanted Spiritual knowledge, the chief spirit came be it for whatever, left behind many of its own, doing to this beautiful Country the things belonging to hell & the deep. How is this going to stop? I would like to tell you; It is only through JESUS. Without Him you can do nothing. The communities of this Island should find a Bible believing Church, attend regularly reading the Scriptures, learn to do good to each other, ‘Pray to the Lord first in the morning’ then at ever given chance and at night. Pray to the FATHER, the SON & the HOLY SPIRIT – ask for protection all day, all night – the LORD hears and will answer, because HE loves you. GOD bless you, GOD bless St. Lucia.

  6. …….of course we know what some fool will say it’s the PM’s fault of course……he should have had a crime plan…..an officer should have been outside in the yard poised behind that broad leaf banana tree monitoring their domestic affairs to intercept at an moment notice………. damn you again Pierre.

  7. Its time for ordinary saint lucians to start arresting police and high ranking officers of the rslpf for aiding and abetting crime. You all always protecting the identity of suspects and even many times charged criminals….no mug shot no Nutting. We are not saying the suspect is guilty, we are just saying that to be considered a suspect there must be a link. Show their faces, so their friends and families can be ashamed!!! Hypocrite system in saint lucia.

  8. @Unknown, instead of cursing another’s family why don’t you say something along the lines of “he who feels it knows it!”. I am also currently living with hereditary mental illness and I wish it on no one or their family. Some of us are so miserable in ourselves that we fail to realise that our illness hinders us from recognizing it in others as well!!!

  9. You guys are all weak and pathetic. This world has become too soft. Back in the old times, if a man killed a woman or child, he would be beating up & killed by the men in the neighborhood. Wrong is wrong weather you intend to do it or not. The killer is NOT a victim, so stop trying to victimize him with some bs ‘mental issues’. He is an adult, & I know both of them personally. We need to go back to the days where we held people accountable for their actions.
    R.I.P to her. I pray that her family heals from this situation.
