‘We Must Force That Government Out Of Office!’

The opposition United Workers Party (UWP) has signalled its intention to step up efforts to demonstrate its displeasure with the Philip J. Pierre administration.

UWP spokesman Lednard ‘Spider’ Montoute told an opposition town hall event on Sunday that Saint Lucia was ‘headless’ and in crisis.

In this regard, the UWP Public Relations Officer echoed the sentiments of the party’s first deputy leader, Guy Joseph, who spoke earlier.

“I am beginning to feel the same way that Guy feels. We cannot wait for another two years. It means we have to begin to take action, and I am saying let’s start warming up for protest action. We must force that government out of office,” Montoute declared.

During the general elections on July 26, 2021, the electorate voted the UWP administration under then Prime Minister and party leader Allen Chastanet out of office.

The UWP managed to retain two of the eleven seats it formerly had in the 17-seat parliament as the Saint Lucia Labour Party (SLP), with Philip J. Pierre at the helm, surged into office by a landslide.

  1. All politicians in Lucia should seek employment at the circus center in las Vegas Nevada. They are as equally talented like those instructors who deals with the tiger, lions and elephants. They get rewarded when they screwed up. Either dead or badly wounded. When red was out of power the have all solutions now yellow out of power they see all faults. Put them back or extended the ones in, will still cause chaos. Sad but it is reality.

  2. Why don’t you good for nothing politicians don’t just sit in a corner and lick your wounds, all of you are the same stop with the nonsense already

  3. It is an abomination that after we Lucians have clearly seen the corruption, venality and immorality of the SLP administration, that things continue to run as though everything alright in this country.
We know that hundreds of millions have been corruptly diverted to private pockets through actions by stewards of the public purse. Even as we suffer financially.
We know the character of the sick individuals in government. And nott just them but family and friends also feeding off the trough.
We know that we get paid at the end of the month and one day later we broke.
Gas , food, electricity, medicine, clothes with sky sigh prices.
Crime and murder through the roof but mate say he ain’t a policeman. He also not a lawyer or teacher and for every question he say he ain’t no noffing!
    Even the heat killing us.
Yet none of the elites who were making so much noise during Covid when the UWP were keeping things together, are saying anything.
The SLP have corrupted CIP, the police, the government and every other institution yet we all keep quiet as if nothing happening.
I hear you all complaining on the bus but unless we call out those crooks then everything remains the same.

  4. First and foremost I am neither SLP or UWP – reposting

“We must force that government out of office,” Montoute declared.”

If your leaders are so reckless with their speech – I wonder why St. Lucia is in such turmoil–?????

“Forcing” someone to do something means to compel or make them do something against their will, often by using pressure, threats, or superior power, essentially taking away their choice and making them act in a way they wouldn’t otherwise choose to do.

  5. Bunch of misfits. I take that you’ll have realised you’ll stand no chance, no chance of winning an elections in the future that you’ll want to force the government out.

We need to protest for a a credible opposition.

    Jokers

  6. Spider after u demonstrate by marching. I want you to set up a swim march from vigie to gros islet. UWP can never ever win an election under Allen Chastanet again. WE DON’T WANT CHASTANET. YOU’LL NOT HEARING. I have written in caption.

  7. UWP seems to be desperate and are uncomfortable in opposition so they will say and do anything to rule up the electorate. First,er me say, Pierre has been doing an excellent job as PM even though at time I give him some tongue lashings. He is the prime minister as so I must direct my displeasure at him when he fails. Secondly, Pierre has been enjoying the euphoria brought about by Ms Alfred’s Olympic success, then the Saint Lucia Kings winning the T20 tournament…more good will for the PM. Thirdly, the success of the Saint Lucia Jazz festival, Carnival and other initiatives taking place in the Island is boding well for Pierre. So the PM is riding the wave of such success…and rightly so. My major gripe with Pierre is the handling of the crime situation. But of course, I don’t expect him to work miracles but he is the leader… So Pierre is scoring point after point after point and the UWP ain’t getting a break because they are not really featuring in the successes. It’s like Federer in his prime versus a player seeded 500. Yet, I observe UWP are in opposition and so they must do the the job the electorate elected them to do…..OPPOSE….But they should not oppose for opposing sake. If these successes continues till the next general election, UWP will lose…I can tell you that now. The PM has been doing an excellent job so far and long may it continue. I particularly like the fact they have press briefings and interacting with the people. Transparency and accountability is key. Mind you, if UWP were the ones in power I would have mostly like come to the same conclusion as stated above. As it stands, I ain’t UWP or SLP. I am for and with the People. Any government that advances the development of the people and country have my vote. For far too long we have been let down by self serving more important than thou politicians and consequently, our nation has not been able to reach it fullest potential. Look at what he have achieved in a short space of time with the little we have. Now imagine when all hands are on deck…Nous Serons Formidable. Pierre I must admit is doing something that has never been done before – moving the country and it’s people forward and making that his sole interest and priority. So UWP keep opposing, that’s what you must do to keep the checks and balances on the current administration. That’s what the electorate employed you to do. But here is the beauty of it all. If you (UWP) manage to oust the current administration in the next election or any other elections after that, you (UWP) would have worked hard to convince the people that SLP is not working for them any longer and you (UWP) now must step up far beyond what SLP has accomplished to-date for the people. Well one hopes.

  8. Boy, you have had your time with Mr Wolf as PM. What You guys wanna came back for to create problems for St Lucia. You guys doesn’t even worth being in opposition Allan and Guy is not good for this country, At the next election St Lucian’s will remind you guys with no vision that “Allan”never again.

  9. Oh there he is…..it’s The Yellow Spider-Man; Oh well there, there, there, still in denial the agony of defeat, the people had spoken and they will speak again loud and clear, no to yellow fever, no to yellow jaundice, no to Allan Chastanet failed trickle down economics 101 here my dear I present to you Dubai, St Lucian’s may not be happy about everything but they are better off. If The United Worthless Party feels the need to take the bull by the horns bring it on baby……….especially you and that Coolie Curry eating Clown is so deserving of a proper flogging by St Lucian’s for your atrocities against the state…..add your Chameleon cohorts (they know themselves) and cabals enemies of the state in the salad bowl also, yes a proper flogging is in order. Pure yellow bellows AGAIN WE ASK….where is your crime plan ??? What’s your crime plan for healthcare since yu’ll bitch so much about it ??….. and no we did not forget, since dear Allen is feeling “Bullish” on St Lucia’s economic trajectory what are his plans……do tell just asking for a friend.

  10. Wow, such a loaded sentence from a former minister. I hope he is regretting his choice of words upon reflection. My question to him would be how do you intend on acting on what was said. He has opened himself to possible litigation, if his words were acted upon by those who might possibly take it the wrong way. My advice to the ex-minister is to be cautious with remarks and not make statements before your brain has some time to evaluate the repercussions.

  11. Montoute is just queasy. Forgive him, as he propels a rearward burst of finer particles of matter. Hope he has not soiled your intelligence.

Gassa Montoute, just wait your turn at the trough. De money eh going nowhere. As long as dere are taxpayers, everybody go be okay. Dah mun just cyan wait.

  12. The current administration has no direction in which to lead the country. We’re at a point where cost of living has gotten ridiculous, crime is continously rising, healthcare is in shambles. Tell me again, what has the SLP administration accomplished? aside from scandal after scandal

  13. Respect and Honor him like any other…do not force him to leave because he was (choosen)and not select..let him finish the work he has began,no one is good but only God (Jesus)…
If you have played the fool and exalted yourself,or if you have planed evil 😈,
Clap your hands over your mouth !
A strutting rooster,a he -goat and a king with his army around him……
    Keep suffering !!!!!!

  14. Spider you are talking nonsense . I do not see all coming back to power again you all will have to go and plant potatoes and dasheen in choiseul desperate to come back to eat the tax payers money and keep the people in abject poverty. I hope that the over 17 thousand people who benefit from the new wage rate vote for the SLP and win all 17 seats … Forward ever backward never

  15. Spider whichever party who chooses to side with you will lose. Say the same things about Chastanet to his face as you would do on the pillows!

  16. When the USA democratic party realized that they were playing in Trump’s hands and did not stand a chance at November 5th Poĺls what did they do????
They convinced BIDEN we had to drop the race and KAMELA joined as the democratic nornmine.

Chas has to smoke that pipe. Including GUY, SPIDER as followers..am tired of saying so. We need opposition.

St. Lucians do not want them . Just like they did to Kenny Anthony. Smell the coffee… They are carrying to much baggage.

  17. Just wait for the remaining two years, if the SLP are as bad as you say they are, your party should win the election easily
