Dupes, Mecca Kickstart UK Tour With Networking Event

Saint Lucian recording artists Sherwinn “Dupes” Brice and Keen “The Mecca” Cotter officially kicked off the British leg of their “The Paradise Life” tour on Saturday at the High Commission of Saint Lucia in London, England.

The duo has been collaborating for several years, working together on songs like “Major” and “Zoom Zoom.”

To launch the extensive London leg of their tour, the artistes hosted a networking event for individuals from various segments of the music industry in an intimate setting.

During the event, Dupes and Mecca delivered live performances, creating a space for connection, sharing, and celebrating creative expression influenced by Saint Lucia.

The gathering also featured presentations from other creatives, showcasing their own talents.

Speaking to St. Lucia Times, Dupes emphasised the significance of such events, noting: “In all facets of the music industry, you need to be connected to not just musicians, but painters, visual artists, videographers, photographers, even as far down as carpenters—anybody in the creative field that can help or benefit from what we’re doing with music. We want to connect with those people. It’s always been a challenge when we get here. Who’s going to film for us? Who’s going to edit?”

“The Saint Lucia High Commission granted us this grace and opportunity to host an event along with Motion Sounds, an entertainment company based here, and connect. We wanted to use that as an opportunity to connect with other creatives in the market.”

Dupes and Mecca are eager to continue hosting similar events in the future, showcasing Caribbean excellence on the international stage.

  1. Who are these singers? I have never heard of them.. Why didn’t they publicise this event so people in the diaspora like me who have never heard of them could have attended. The High Commission in London don’t always advertise events that they are having and hosting.
The Lucian and Caribbean community in the British Isles need to know about these singers and entertainers so that people can come to support them. Are these singers originally from St Lucia or elsewhere but representing St Lucia? People need to know about them and their music. Can someone enlighten me a little bit more about them and their music genre….Please O
