RSLPF Operation Results In Arrests, Firearm Recovery

On Saturday, November 9, 2024, the Special Operations Team of the Royal Saint
Lucia Police Force (RSLPF) conducted an exercise within the northern and central
policing divisions.

In the Central division, officers had cause to stop and conduct searches of thirty-two
(32) vehicles. Two (2) motorcycles were impounded for various traffic violations.

In Gros-Islet, officers had cause to search Jean Paul Grandu of Bisee, Castries. This
search resulted in the discovery and seizure of one (1) Glock 19 pistol and eighteen
(18) rounds of 9mm ammunition.

Jean Paul Grandu was arrested and subsequently charged for the offences of
Possession of Firearm and Possession of Ammunition.

Jean Paul Grandu was escorted to the First District Court where he submitted a bail application.

Following his application bail was denied by the court and he was remanded into custody at the Bordelias Correctional Facility.
