Guy Joseph: ‘No Devil in Hell’ Will Save SLP At The Polls

The opposition United Workers Party (UWP) is prepared to regain the Micoud North constituency and the government and has indicated that the intervention of dark forces will not matter.

In this regard, 1st Deputy Leader Guy Joseph, during a town hall meeting over the weekend, declared that supernatural elements will not sway the results of the next election.

Joseph claims that members of the Saint Lucia Labour Party (SLP) sought assistance from supernatural elements to win the last election.

However, he contends that the United Workers Party serves a higher power.

“Tell the Labours I know where they went in Monchy and which gardeh they went to see in Monchy. And we know how many dolls are on the wall and our names are on it. But I want them to know there is power that is greater than the power of voodoo and that is the power of Almighty God. No devil in hell will save the Labour party in this election,” he said.

The UWP Deputy Leader says the SLP’s occupancy of Micoud North is coming to an end.

As far as Joseph is concerned, the Labour Party will not hold on to Micoud North with incumbent Jeremiah Norbert.

“You have leveled the playing field in Micoud North and South. One term for Labour in Micoud South, now one term for Labour in Micoud North. But that is the only term that Labour will have in Micoud North,” said Joseph to applause from the audience.

Jeremiah Norbert created history during the Labour Party’s landslide election win on July 26, 2021, by winning the Micoud North.

It was the first time a Labour candidate had tasted victory in the United Workers Party stronghold.

Reflecting on his victory as the SLP marked its third year in office, Norbert said regarding Micoud North residents: “We told them that for too long their loyalty was taken for granted, and that they were viewed as essential to the UWP legacy, and the record book, but that the UWP were not delivering in their best interests. I told them over and over, that they had to believe that the power of the people is greater than the people in power.”

  1. When a political party loses an election in developed societies, they generally blame their loss on unmotivated voters, jaded voters, demotivated voters or poor candidates. In St. Lucia it’s, “de devil” dat do dat.

In St. Lucia, if a driver drives recklessly and with abandon, finally crashes, resulting in death; the word is, “dey do him dat.” In developed societies, the word is he was an unsafe person.

“De devil” is a crutch for all our failures. If it wasn’t around we would have invented something to put the blame on. Our greed, selfishness, envy must find a scapegoat. The devil, the gardeh, fixion are all hocus-pocus that have made homes into the minds of the weak or uneducated. Every self-respecting politician in St. Lucia must have a lexicon filled with magic trick words. They can’t get the edge without this vital knowledge. The more blank ammunition, the better.

  2. But Guy u said your granfada had a fork or fack that was mootay, so why u accusing someone else of voodoo ting. Uwp cannot attract good candidates, the Chairman not good, u and Chas should remove yourselves from the party as the report suggested etc etc that’s what will cause SLP to have a second term not voodoo.

  3. De clase politician, nothing any youth would aspire to become, disgusting analogy that is not even worth publishing. Mate just lost my vote….again!!!

  4. Man stop fooling the people with your gutter politics those days are over you all lost the elections because you all did nothing for the people but made millions for yourself now the people are making more progress with the current administration when the elections is called in 26 the current administration will win all 17 seats . 17 – 0 in 26 a bunch of rejected politicians desperate for power to milk the treasury …

  5. This, coming from a deputy political party leader is beyond disgusting. Where is the substance? It clearly shows his mode of beliefs.

  6. Cousin Guy, as a so called 7days, why are you going this way? It shows clearly you are not a Christian. Guy as long as you are in UWP, this party can never win the next election. You are a disgrace to our party.

  7. “A madman who acts like a Prophet ”
It is God that made Pierre King over (his people), because he loves his people…

  8. Could you imagine who shows up on my birthday date? The Devil himself..
Spewing excrement asusal…We must detach from the mentally unsound..person..thank you for sharing this with us

  9. I am in full support to vote Uwp the next election if ONLY they would tell the nation the following: Guy, what plan do you have for education? Please be specific will you bring back the facility fees? Labour is already paying Maths and English for CXC students, will you increase the subjects payment or remove this payment? Labour gave a minimum wage of $6,50 will you increase it to $12.00 or remove it. We need to know what policy you have in place.
