Canadian TV Show Host Wraps Up Season 2 With Lucian Soca

It is certainly a big deal when you get an endorsement from a youtuber, talk show host and social media influencer. It is an even bigger deal if that individual has over 13 million followers on Instagram and is also a UN Goodwill ambassador.

Well Saint Lucian Soca artiste Imran Nerdy got this double header of a deal Sunday, when Lilly Singh, who goes by just her first name on Social Media, posted a video on Instagram, dancing to his 2023 Road March song “Clock Out.”

“Work hard, play hard, sleep hardest. That’s a wrap on season 2 of @battleofthegenerations,” Lilly wrote to accompany the video.

The video which so far has thousands of views and shares, shows Lilly lip synching the words to “Clock Out,” and dancing as she exited the set of her show Battle of the Generations and making her way out onto the streets of Canada.

According to Imran Nerdy who recently won the most exportable song award for his 2024 song “Start D Party,” this certainly means a lot and is another step up for him on the international scene.

“This is an area where we have been trying to gain recognition for a while now. We have been doing the networking on the international side for the past year and it looks like things are coming to light and paying off,” Imran told St. Lucia Times.

“Our goal besides just promoting the music and performing, is to get brand endorsements, placements on TV shows and movies as well,” he went onto explain.

“So I was familiar with Lilly, I know she loves Soca and she usually follows me and did express that Clock Out was a song she loved and wanted to find a way to implement it. So she finally went ahead, did her thing and shared it with me,” Imran says adding that he welcomed the seal of approval from Lilly.

The Soca artiste, who this year performed at a number of events overseas including Miami carnival, says he and his team Rapid Entertainment intends on building on this recent Social Media momentum.

“I will continue to ask my fans and followers to showcase what clocking out means to them in a visual way, whether it be via Tik Tok, Instagram or Facebook”, he says.

He is thankful for what Lilly has done and hope to meet her in person soon and even perform with her.

Lilly Singh is a 36-year-old Canadian YouTuber, television host, comedian and author. She currently hosts the popular Canadian trivia TV show Battle of the Generations and previously executive produced and hosted the NBC late-night talk show “A Little Late with Lilly Singh”.

Lilly has been recognized by TIME, Forbes and Fast Company for her impact in entertainment and received The DVF Leadership Award in 2023. She was named a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador for her work to expand opportunities for young girls.
