Demons are everywhere; Guns, Knives even cuss words hurt. I hate to ask, have the Churches given up on their duty to the people? are we heading to Haiti style living? Lord help us.
@The Fox. You have it backwards bro. The people have given up their own responsibility to God.
@ The Fox
Nah…it’s because you are not praying enough. Pray harder and longer I urge you for the love we both have for our beloved country. Keep praying till pigs grow wings to fly. Perhaps the almighty sky god is busy and he ain’t have time to answer prayers so perhaps he needs some gentle persuasion. Perhaps he doesn’t give a $#it. Isn’t it obvious? But why denigrate our brothers and sisters from Haiti who have suffered the pains of history like we did, became the first black republic by fighting for their freedoms from slavery, a freedom our ancestors also fought for. Haiti has it’s myriad issues but the issues are both political and economic. Haiti was forced to pay a debt for it’s freedom in 1804 to the tune of 150 million Francs, a debt it finished paying to France in 1947. And yet, when that 150 million Francs was stamped on Haiti for it’s freedom, Haiti chose to pay because it preferred freedom to slavery, and yet Haiti did not have the money to pay, it took a loan from France at extremely high interest rates to pay the debt of 150 million Francs. Now they had a loan debt to repay plus 150 million Francs for fighting for its own independence both debts gathering interest repayments as the time went on -Think about that. Successively since 1804, Haiti has had issues that has beset and stunted it’s growth including corrupt government, dictators, foreign interference, natural disasters and the like. Haiti was once more lucrative as a nation than the USA. France sold Louisiana ( named after king Louis ) to the USA so it ( France ) can keep Haiti. So when you use your subtle condescending words about Haiti style living, remember:
1) Haiti inspired your ancestors to fight for their freedom from slavery, otherwise we might have well been slaves to this day if Haiti did not shatter the myth of white supremacy. A freedom you enjoy today and now feel entitled to beat up on Haiti, your brother’s and sisters.
2) Since your god is all powerful, I offen wonder what was god doing when our ancestors were enslavement brutally for 400 years. He sat on his golden throne and did nothing? For 400 years? Even the so called Holy church was cashing in on the blood, skin, tears and suffering of our ancestors. In fact the bible itself promotes slavery…. sanctioned by god. No surprise there.
Don’t you see a pattern shaping up here? I know it’s difficult for some to see but one day, the scales will fall from the eyes of those who can’t see.
All mentioned here are facts. I urge anyone to dispute these. Since you believe in god and it’s your right, which I vehemently respect and defend your right to believe – I truly do, I will also say it is also your duty to prove that your beliefs are the answer to the the world, Haiti or Saint Lucia’s problems and I mean and say this with the utmost care, respect and love as a fellow Saint Lucian. Cause I want an answer and a solution as much as anyone else to the plague in our society. But I also know the answer is not calling on some sky god because if that sky god is worth his salt, or even worth the billions of praises that go up daily to him, he would at least do something humanly impossible to relieve the suffering of his worshippers….but I know you will say, that the reward is in heaven waiting….well if that is the case, no need to ask for sky god to put a hand in Saint Lucia because the reward is waiting in heaven for those who believe…In some distant future and place that seems never to come. A typical carrot and stick scenario. If none of what I have said here appeals to you, at least, please remember one thing brother… don’t beat up on our brothers and sisters in Haiti for you or we could have been in that same situation, if not worse had the course of our history gone differently.
Peace and love.
He had been brandishing the weapon for hours?….didn’t anyone call the police. Why are we so slow to act? I’m referring to both citizens and the law.
It deeper than;we tink
Crow I agree with you.
The fox, what the church have to do with that, parents now, can’t even ask their own children to accompany them to church. Their response, mummy churchhhhh
