Four people have been charged in connection with the discovery of a homemade shotgun in the Desruisseaux community last Friday.
Police said in a statement on Monday that Kayus Serieux, 22, and Ignetta Lionel, 46, both of Desruisseaux; Alkan James, 24, of Mon Repos; and Anthony Joseph, 30, of Bruceville, Vieux Fort, are due to appear in court on a charge of firearm possession.
The charges stem from a joint operation conducted by officers from the Micoud Police Station, the Southern Patrol Team, and the Special Services Unit, in which a search warrant was executed in Desruisseaux, leading to the seizure of the homemade gun.
The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force has confirmed that further updates on the proceedings will be provided as they become available.
This operation highlights ongoing law enforcement efforts to address firearm-related crimes in Saint Lucia, particularly in the Southern Division.

How can u charge 4 people for a gun. A search warrant was issued which means it has the name of the individual and house on it. You found a gun and arrested 4 people. Please explain to me how is that possible.
Was the search warrant for everyone in the house. Was there a particular name on the search warrant. I need someone to explain to me how police search a house with a warrant and charge 4people for one gun. Can’t understand such law
So the police can go to Desruisseaux and search for 1 gun but they can’t find the plethora of guns in Castries and surrounding areas.
@Abc. This occurs more than you believe. Example: say a search warrant was issued for John Doe based on intelligence that he was the only one residing at the property. Upon entry, law enforcement discovered there are multiple residents in the property. By the way, there are 4 bags of cocaine sitting on a table in a common area (kitchen). John Doe, along with everyone else (co-conspirators) would be bundled into a law. enforcement vehicle(s).
Lesson: if you are living in a criminal household, you have options (1) report illegal activities to the police (2) vacate the property before it’s too late.
Well said, all four can and will be charged, for being an accessory to a Crime.
If you have a friend who’s involved in illegal activities, encourage him/ her, to stop. If he/ she refuses to, stay away or report the matter to the police @ 555 or the crime app, before it’s to late.
A search warrant was issued for the search of a “property”, upon execution of the search of the property officers found one hand made apparatus.
Ben the search warrant wasn’t to go and search for “one” gun, search warrant was for the property where one gun was found.
ABC 123, my presumption, the reason why all four arrested was because none admitted the apparatus was they own. Meaning all four must said thats not mine, I’ve never seen this
Ben you seem to be aware of where all the plethora of guns are in Castries, please help by contacting the police annonomously if you have to and give them the addresses or bushes where you know the pelthora of guns are stored please.
I can certainly see a change for the good since this new Commissioner has started. An improvement in the disemmination of information for sure and more bust.
That said, we need an update on the container of contraband found sometime ago up north.
