A mother of three, including a nine-month-old, succumbed after being shot on Tuesday just a short distance away from her home in Corinth.
A family member identified the deceased as Alana Bernard, 27.
The Saint Lucia Fire Service responded at 4:56 pm and transported her to the OKEU where a medical practitioner pronounced her dead.
“I don’t know anything. I got a call saying they shot her,” a family member told St. Lucia Times.
“This is very sad. This thing needs to stop,” the distraught relative declared.
“Right now, the family is grieving. She was heading home. She was a few steps from the house when it happened,” the relative disclosed.
Alana lived with her three children, her father, mother, and sister.

Whilst hoards of police officers prowl around the streets with books in hand looking to charge any driver who left home without washing their vehicle, gunshots continue to ring out day by day in this country. You cannot stop crime by targeting law-abiding citizens.
This is extremely sad… the young lady loved her kids , always with her kids. Father god take vengeance especially for the innocent children. These crazy psychopaths need to be stopped!!! Yourll have mothers and sisters stop the killing!!! You took her life , now what ???? Taking a life satisfying you ? Yourll possessed by demons !!! So so sad , may she rest in peace 🕊️🕊️
This must be a domestic dispute and a killing of passion. Her child/children father/s, boyfriend/s, or male friend/s must be spoken to by the police. Her phone might be of great use and information to help the police. I need case to be solved in quick time. The nine (9) months baby have me feeling sad and depressed. I need justice for this baby child.
Another example of the total lack of respect for life in St Lucia. These children and the rest of this poor woman’s family will be scarred for life. Happy now perpetrator/s?.
This is a young lady with 3 small kids ,didn’t the shooter think twice and say what the heck I’m doing going to take someone life ,now this 3 little kids will grow up without a mother,I hope the get the killer and give him the death penalty? May the almighty bless her kids ,preserve her soul and grant the murderer/murderers no more peace and no more rest in this life time or the next and on their passing cast the souls into the eternal fires of hell…….. we don’t justice in this country so I will continue to ask the almighty to deal with the worthless murderers we seem to have in abundance in this country . @SFR: You must stop hitting at the Police while it’s convenient to you. You must have ESP (Extrasensory Perception – It’s also known as a sixth sense, cryptaesthesia, or clairvoyance to know that someone contemplates, plans to commit some murder and then to intervene and prevent it. Only GOD can do that. Instead of bashing the Police, speak to the criminally minded idiots who believe that they can take someone’s life and escape retribution. Retribution in some way, shape or form is coming, rest assured it’s coming. It would be better to speak to the authorities to train the Police in Investigative techniques in criminal investigations including crime scene analysis, evidence collection, witness interviews, surveillance, undercover operations, forensic analysis (like DNA testing and fingerprinting), interrogations, informant development, data analysis, and utilizing technology like CCTV footage to identify suspects and gather information.

This is very disturbing…..it was targeted, why do this she has three young children she left behind. The father of the children I would first reeled in. This not random, she had enemies.
As a Saint Lucian, I am raging mad and furious. Praying the Police get the perpetrator (s)soon, like yesterday..It is very sad when those of us residing overseas don’t feel safe coming home. Downright crazy!!

Always Think twice before you make a decision that will likely create enemy , because you have kids, and your enemies will not think twice to permanently remove you from this world, leaving your babies behind to deal with the trauma and struggle of growing up in a broken home, without mother or father or both.
Always keep a channel open for communication to resolve conflict between parties.
