DeVry University Expands Scholarship Initiative to Saint Lucians

Saint Lucian students now have a new opportunity to pursue higher education at a reduced cost. DeVry University has expanded its Bridge to Brilliance Initiative to include the island among 16 Caribbean nations. The initiative offers up to 50 per cent tuition scholarships for qualifying students.

The announcement was made on Friday during an online media briefing, where DeVry’s Director of Corporate Partnerships for the Caribbean, John Evans, highlighted the university’s commitment to empowering Caribbean learners.

“Education has the power to transform lives,” he said. “Through this initiative, we’re opening doors for Caribbean students to gain the skills, credentials, and global opportunities they need to excel in today’s fast-changing workplace. This is about empowering a generation and uplifting communities.”

The Bridge to Brilliance Initiative provides flexible learning options in high-demand fields such as STEM, healthcare, and business. Students can study online, on a US campus, or through a hybrid model.

Evans insisted that it is “more than just a scholarship programme”. “It’s a strategic initiative to break down barriers, especially financial ones, and provide Caribbean students with access to world-class education. We believe that every student, regardless of their financial background, should have the chance to pursue a career-focused education,” he said.

Chief Project Officer with DeVry, Micah Arnold, reflected on the university’s long history and forward-thinking education approach.

“DeVry has been helping students build tech-forward skills for over 90 years,” he said. “Our programmes prepare students for the digital economy, which is critical in regions like the Caribbean. We’re excited to bring this opportunity to students who are ready to transform their futures.”

The expansion of the Bridge to Brilliance Initiative includes up to 50 per cent scholarships for qualifying students across more than 50 undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. There are no application fees, and flexible payment options are available.

“By providing scholarships and flexible learning options, we’re making education more accessible to students who otherwise wouldn’t have the opportunity to attend college,” said Evans. “We’re not just enrolling students; we’re empowering them to achieve their dreams and contribute to the economic growth of their communities.”
