Augier Combined Win District 6

When the eight schools of District 6 completed their track meet on Wednesday at the Philip Marcellin Grounds, Augier Combined School emerged as champions.

The boys and girls of ACS amassed 300 points for the title. Vieux Fort Infant and Primary were second with 236 points, ahead of Belle Vue Combined with 220, and Blanchard Combined with a total of 204. Also competing were Desruisseaux Combined, Pierrot/Vige Combined, Plain View Combined, and Grace Combined.

Augier was especially strong in the Under-11 division, with 20 points. Vieux Fort Infant and Primary made a strong push with their performance in the Under-13 division, where they had a whopping 103 points. And Belle Vue Combined earned 51 points in the Under-9’s.

The three top athletes for the victorious school were Caitlin Bryan in the Under-13 girls (18 points), Theon William in the Under-11 boys (18 points), and Torali Eugene in the Under-9 girls (16 points). 

Eugene and Bryan shared high-point honours in their respective categories. In the Under-9 girls, Arianna Tobierre of VFIP also earned 16 points. Levi Antoine of Pierrot/Vige Combined won the Under-9 boys. 

VFIP student-athlete Mariella Descartes joined Eugene atop the list for Under-13 girls with 18 points. Kamal Sookhanty of Plain View Combined had a remarkable output with 31 points in the Under-13 class.

The top female athlete in the Under-11s was Kyrah King from Desruisseaux Combined, with 24 points. 

Augier had previously topped the cricket ball throw, just ahead of Pierrot Combined, with 44 and 41 points, respectively. Blanchard ended third on 35 points, Belle Vue Combined fourth on 26, and Plain View Combined fifth on 25.
