Gyovanni Stanislaus, a 25-year-old resident of Arundel Hill, Castries, appeared before the First District Court this week to face an indictable charge of handling stolen goods.
It is alleged that on Friday, January 10, 2025, Stanislaus was found in possession of multiple stolen items, including:
- One European Union passport
- One Swiss passport
- A cream, blue, and black pouch with gold accents
- A Belgium ID card and driver’s licence
- Five UBS Visa credit cards
- Two Revolut credit cards
- A Switzerland driver’s licence and ID card
- An assurance card and other personal cards
- 100 Swiss francs and various euro coins
During the hearing, the prosecution noted that key elements of the case, including statements from identification officers, remained outstanding. Nevertheless, they requested that the charge be formally read and the matter advanced to the High Court for further proceedings.
Stanislaus is represented by defence attorney Stephen Brette. The case is scheduled for a sufficiency hearing on May 23, 2025, at the High Court in Vigie Castries.
