Shooting in Fond Assau Leaves One Dead, Another Injured

A shooting in Fond Assau, Babonneau, in the early hours of Easter Sunday has left 26-year-old resident Tommy Joseph, also known as ‘Tomchu’, dead, and another man injured.

According to a police statement, officers from the Babonneau Police Station responded to reports of gunfire around 1:45 a.m. Upon arrival, they found Joseph and another man with gunshot wounds.

Both men were transported to medical facilities for emergency treatment. Joseph was later pronounced dead by a medical practitioner, while the second victim remains under medical care.

Police have not released further details regarding the circumstances of the shooting or any potential suspects. They are appealing to the public for information.

Anyone with knowledge of the incident is urged to contact the Babonneau Police Station at 456-4120, the anonymous Crime Hotline at 555, or use the RSLPF Crime Hotline App, available on the Google Play Store.

Investigations are ongoing.
