Heartbreak in Ti Morne After Fatal Stabbing

The usually quiet community of Ti Morne, Union, was left reeling in grief after a brutal stabbing on Sunday evening cut short the life of Jeremiah Precius, a beloved 44-year-old remembered by family and friends as a joyful, caring and vibrant soul.

According to police, around 5:40 p.m. on Sunday, the Babonneau Station received a report that a male had sustained stab wounds in the Ti Morne area. Officers rushed to the scene and found Precius unresponsive just a short distance into the community. He was taken to the OKEU Hospital, where he was pronounced dead by medical staff.

His younger brother, Marlon Precius, was one of the first on the scene. In a raw, emotional interview, he recounted the devastating moment he tried to save his brother’s life.

“I heard somebody stab my brother. I myself have no idea… They ran up here, come and call me and tell me they stabbed my brother down the road. I try and help my brother because there’s nobody there too. But I was the only guy that try and keep my brother alive. That is it. I see my brother die in front of me.”

Jeremiah, known to his friends as “Jerry,” was described as the life of the party – someone who would bring people together with laughter, rum and good vibes. His brother struggled to hold back tears as he explained the depth of their bond.

“That is my backbone. I am speechless. I have no words. I just come to see my brother die. I cannot help you all… That is my eldest brother. I’m the last. So what does it mean now?”

Marlon also expressed concern for their mother, who recently left hospital and suffers from Type 2 diabetes.

“We can’t even tell her yet. She could get a heart attack. That’s what hurting the most.”

Police are investigating the matter and urge anyone with information to contact the Babonneau Police Station or make an anonymous report via the Crime Hotline at 555 or through the Crime Hotline app.

A close female friend of Jeremiah also spoke through tears, recalling her last moments with him.

“The last time I saw Jerry, I combed his hair right there. We had our little barbecue. Then I come on the scene and see Jerry on the floor in blood. I just start to cry. Jerry is a very nice person… he loved my children.”

She didn’t witness the stabbing, as she had just left to buy something when she returned to the horrific scene.

“He got a couple stabs in his belly… I don’t know why somebody would want to do that to him. A little misunderstanding, that’s all.”

The grief is raw and still setting in across Ti Morne. Those who knew Jeremiah are left grappling with the senselessness of the violence – and the hole it leaves behind.

Marlon’s message to young people was direct, spoken through pain:

“Let’s forget about being negative, let’s live life on a positive high. But I can’t find words to try and bring my brother back… even though I cry, nothing could bring him back.”

  1. I am so saddened after hearing about the passing of Jeremiah
“Jerry ” Precius. I am in Chris’ Drumming Class & I cannot believe why someone would do this to such an amazing person from what I hear.
So sad. This guy was way too young & full of life. He had 2 daughters which makes it even worse.

R.I.P. + Jeremiah I hope your family gets all the answers they are waiting for & I hope that they can move on in their lives with grace & serenity.
