Well-known musician/singer Lennie Stone passed away on June 1 at the age of 71.
Stone’s musical journey began on the steelpan at the age of eight, sparking a lifelong passion for music. He later took to the acoustic guitar while honing his skills as a vocalist.
He performed with multiple bands and as a solo artist, gracing stages across Saint Lucia’s hotel circuit. He also entertained audiences for many years aboard the Cunard Countess.
He will also be remembered for staging the Flashback concert series, which gave a platform to local musicians.
Lennie’s vocals will forever be cherished on the Charles Cadet-penned Christmas classics Poinsettia Blossoms and When Christmas Comes Around.
The singer has also composed several Panorama songs for North Stars Steel Orchestra, including Tribute to Scrub.

I am so sorry to hear of Lennie’s passing. I enquired about him just recently. He was a truly talented musician but perhaps not well known by the younger generation. His recordings done in the UK were of a higher quality than most others of the day and it is a pity that he did not have more studio releases.
May we always remember him.
