Export the runway makes bold statement

If Export the Runway 3 proved anything, it’s that Saint Lucian creativity is alive and thriving.

Hosted at the Royalton Saint Lucia Resort, the third edition of the fashion showcase brought together bold design and an unmistakable sense of pride. From the opening look to the final ovation, each model walked down the stage fitted in truly eye-catching wear.

At the centre of it all was featured designer Christine Samuel of Christy Creations, celebrating her 10th year in the fashion industry. The designs featured her widely recognised paintings, printed directly onto fabric, transforming the runway into a moving gallery of wearable art. Her pieces were as expressive as they were elegant, telling her story through every stitch, colour and silhouette.

A major moment for the audience was the appearance of international model Nyakim Gatwech, widely referred to as the “Queen of Dark”. Her sole walk caused everyone to pause and stare as she gracefully walked down the runway—a global icon on a Saint Lucian stage.

The show didn’t just stop at fashion.

True to its promise of celebrating Saint Lucia’s The full St Joseph’s creative Convent spirit, Export the Runway delegation 3 was that infused made with the local music, live performances, trip to Martinique. and surprise elements.

One unforgettable twist? Stilt walkers emerged mid-show, towering above the runway as models moved beneath and around them, a nod to Saint Lucian folklore and Carnival traditions.

Each designer delivered something unique and meaningful. The lineup featured a strong cadre of local talent, with a few guest designers: Tamla Lionel, Sharleen Largon, Helena Isaac, Sheena Xavier, Anselm Mathurin, Lanadeene Rene, Perrie Marshall, Sharon Tanner, Lisa Volney, Rose & Victor Lascaris, Marshall Celestine (Canada), Myrkida Harris, Keisha Edwards (Guyana) and Ecliff Elie (Trinidad) .
