Trio to represent Saint Lucia at 25th World Creole Music Festival

Three of Saint Lucia’s top performers, Ezra ‘D’Fun Machine’ Augustin, Imran Nerdy, and Arthur Allain, will take the stage in Dominica this October as part of the landmark 25th edition of the World Creole Music Festival.

Organisers officially launched the 25th WCMF in Saint Lucia on Thursday at Bay Gardens Haven Hotel.

“We feel the energy already,” Monelle Alexis, communications specialist at the Discover Dominica Authority, said at the ceremony. “The anticipation is alive.”

With performances slated for October 24 to 26, this year’s theme, Global Echoes of the Nature Island commemorates a journey that began in 1997.

Alexis shared that the WCMF has grown into more than just a concert as it’s now “a Caribbean moment.” From village sets and breakfast parties to fringe events like Viva La Carnival and Calypso showcases, she said the two-week experience is “something for every traveler”.

The festival’s lineup includes Dominica’s own TK International, Spice and Vybz Kartel from Jamaica, Tiwa Savage from Nigeria sharing the stage with Trinidadian artist Bunji Garlin. Saint Lucia’s very own Ezra, Arthur and Nerdy who will perform on October 26.  This will be the second time Ezra returns to the WCMF stage after a standout performance in 2023.

Ezra, who performed at last year’s festival, expressed gratitude for his return. “It is an absolutely amazing feeling to be featured again… 25 years, that in itself is another blessing.”

Alexis also spotlighted Saint Lucia’s consistent support over the years, recounting how locals have been attending WCMF annually since 2011. “Your flags flying, your voices ringing loud, your presence lighting up the stadium,” she recalled. “This kind of loyalty does not go unnoticed.”

For those planning to attend, direct flights from San Juan to Dominica are now available via Caribbean Airlines. Boat options like the RFS Express are also on offer. Festival tickets can be purchased online at www.dominicafestivals.com, with physical tickets arriving in Saint Lucia soon.

Saint Lucians also have a chance to win free tickets and travel by attending select events such as Red Brunch, The Indulgence Breakfast Set, and Viva La Carnival.

“This is not just about music. This is 25 years of shared legacy… So come for the music. Stay for the movement. Let’s make history together,” Alexis said.
