Carnival Tuesday brings more energy and celebrity appearances

Revellers returned on Carnival Tuesday with more hype and intensity than on Monday. While both days saw massive crowds, Tuesday’s jump up was on another level.

The momentum was high from the beginning as masqueraders, locals and visitors danced through the streets, powered by soca beats and nonstop road energy.

Adding to the excitement were celebrity sightings. Actor Lance Gross and singer Chlöe Bailey were spotted on the road in full Carnival spirit, much to the delight of fans.

Gross, who previously attended the Saint Lucia Jazz & Arts Festival, kept his promise to return for Carnival.

Bailey, no stranger to Lucian vibes, also made a return this year. Meanwhile, TV personality Angela Simmons was seen enjoying the festivities on Monday.

Masqueraders described the day as “awesome” and “one big family”. However, one participant offered a bit of constructive feedback, saying that while the road experience was phenomenal, things slowed down a bit at the main stage on the Castries Waterfront. She suggested that bands should be limited to 30 minutes maximum on stage, noting that the long wait time was somewhat uncomfortable because of the hot weather.

Despite minor hiccups, both Carnival Monday and Tuesday delivered. From the music to the costumes and the dancing, it was a time to remember, proving once again why Saint Lucia remains one of the Caribbean’s top Carnival destinations.
