A Taste of Carnival at the Bay

Lucian Carnival may be over, but expect to see carnivals popping up in communities throughout the summer.

For visitors who missed the main event in the city, or for new arrivals eager to experience the island’s vibrant culture, Coconut Bay Beach Resort & Spa in Vieux Fort recently hosted its own carnival celebration.

It was a mini version of the real thing: a music truck blasting soca and Dennery segment, costumed revellers, and cultural highlights like stilt walkers.

While some guests watched from the sidelines, capturing the moment on their phones, others jumped into the parade, which wound its way from the resort’s entrance to the poolside.

The event culminated with Caribbean Night, featuring performances by St Lucy’s Steelpan from Micoud and live entertainment.
