Serenity Park Reopens with New Look

Good news for anyone looking for a spot to relax this weekend: Serenity Park is back and better than ever.

After being closed for renovations during Carnival, the popular downtown park will officially reopen this Friday at 3 p.m., thanks to a major refurbishment project announced by Minister for Housing and Local Government Richard Frederick.

Gone are the days of the space-hogging fountain and limited amenities. The new-look park now boasts an amphitheatre for live performances, updated changing rooms and new vending booths for local entrepreneurs.

Frederick pointed to the fountain as a key change. “We actually closed down on the fountain… it’s more aesthetically pleasing, and we have changed it. There are seats around it now,” he said, highlighting how the redesign creates more room for visitors.

“As the name suggests, it’s a really serene area, a place for reflection,” Frederick said. “Right next to a fountain, it makes for a very good environment for that purpose.”

The minister expressed his pride in the final result, praising the contractor for delivering a high-quality public space for the community.

  1. Serenity Park was actually a nice place to go sit and have a quiet meal. Or just chill with no constant music blaring. I’m not sure why this guy thought it necessary to put an entertainment section that is guaranteed to be blasting music. Not every one wants to be bombarded with music and blocko. You can’t even go by the beach anymore to get some modicum of peace. I wonder if this guy is trying to drown out the voices of souls haunting him?
