Bradley Felix unshaken by “Kiffo’s” challenge ahead of elections

Incumbent MP for Choiseul/Saltibus, Bradley Felix, says he remains confident as he prepares to contest the constituency for a third consecutive time under the United Workers Party (UWP) banner.

Reflecting on nearly a decade as a parliamentary representative, Felix framed his time in office as rooted in service and connection.

“Well it’s all about love, the people of Choiseul. I think I have proven my love for them… it’s not a new game and I expect that we have the full support of the people.”

His remarks came days after the Saint Lucia Labour Party (SLP) officially endorsed Keithson “Kiffo” Charles as its candidate for the seat. Charles, a long-time resident of Choiseul, has worked with LUCELEC for 25 years and currently serves as supervisor in the Customer Care, Transmission and Distribution Division with responsibility for the island’s south. He holds a certificate in electrical engineering technology and a certificate in management from the UWI Arthur Lok Jack Global School of Business.

Charles, described by supporters as a community man, is the third labour candidate in successive elections to attempt to unseat Felix.

Responding to the prospect of a fresh contest, Felix said he is “unshaken.”

“As anything, a new candidate will come there and raise some conversation… at the end of the day, the day of election, we will have the final say.”

Looking ahead, Felix said that if re-elected, he intends to continue delivering on commitments to the people of Choiseul/Saltibus and to ensure that the constituency is not neglected.

“I can promise the people of Choiseul that a new day is coming,” he added.

Felix was one of only two UWP candidates who was able to retain his seat in the last election. With both candidates now officially endorsed, Choiseul/Saltibus is shaping up to be another constituency to watch as the island prepares for the next general election.

  1. So Hair Club for Men Felix trying to sure up himself after being mostly an absentee for the last five years now and then he would “pass thru”. So still no hotel, look at the roads the citizens of Choiseul has reached the fork in the road and will decide if they want to give five more years to this yellow clown. When Carol King wrote you’re so vain I think she had him in mind, he is the only politician that walks around with comb & brush in his back pocket. Yes Felix a new day is coming for the folks in Choiseul / Saltibus and he is Keithson Charles, unlike you he permanently resides in the community and is involved in the day to day struggles within the community, and he sees under your leadership the continuing erosion to their quality of life compounded with your prolific laponess as their MP for so many years. You have got to go, AND YOU WILL .
