Saint Lucian tapeball cricketers are currently participating in their inaugural T20 tournament in St Vincent and the Grenadines, taking place from October 23 to 29, 2025. Two squads, a youth team and a veteran team, are representing the island in this historic encounter, a collaboration between the Saint Lucia National Tapeball Cricket Association and the St Vincent Tapeball Committee. Both teams are scheduled to play at least four matches each.
Reports indicate that travel and facilitation for the tour have been largely sponsored by the parliamentary representative for Castries North, Stephenson King.
According to an official statement from the Saint Lucia Tapeball Association, “the main objective of the tour is to promote tapeball cricket throughout the Windwards and to give the players the opportunity to showcase their skills and talents at a higher level.”
President of the Saint Lucia Tapeball Association Cyrus Cepal told St. Lucia Times he is proud to support the team as they continue to evangelise this popular version of the sport throughout the Windward Islands.
“I am pleased once again to join our National Tapeball players as we tour SVG for the first time,” he said. “We are committed to develop tapeball throughout the Windwards as we provide the opportunity for our youth and veterans to exhibit their skills and talents. We are hoping to also develop the sport through the communities in Saint Lucia, as our motto is: Sports for health, Sports for life, Sports for all.”
