One dead, multiple injured after three-vehicle Vieux Fort collision

A tragic scene unfolded in Vieux Fort on October 25 after a three-vehicle collision left multiple people injured and claimed the life of a child.

According to information received by St. Lucia Times, several individuals were transported to the hospital for treatment following the crash. Among them was a young child who, eyewitnesses said, appeared motionless at the scene. St. Lucia Times has since learnt the child succumbed to his injuries.

The deceased was a student of the Banse La Grace Combined School, where news of his death has left the community in mourning.

Images and footage circulating on social media showed the aftermath of the collision, prompting widespread expressions of grief and frustration. Across social media platforms, many Saint Lucians have renewed calls for greater caution on the roads and stricter enforcement of traffic regulations.

One Facebook user commented, “High time they take the necessary actions to deal with these drivers.”
