Saint Lucia’s national Under-23 men’s cricketers are back home after a triumphant tour of Dominica.
The visitors swept the three 50-over matchups against their Dominican counterparts and completed the rout with an eight-wicket victory in the three-day fixture, which ended a day early on Thursday, December 11.
Among the batsmen, Theo Edward hit a first-innings half-century, and Noelle Leo continued his fine run of form with 40 in the second innings. A balanced bowling attack led by Isaiah Jones and captain Tarrique Edward, with seven wickets between them, was able to contain the home team at the Botanic Gardens in Portsmouth.

Saint Lucia won the toss and sent Dominica to bat first, dismissing them before tea on the opening day for 124. Keon Gaston, Aaron Joseph and Jaden Elibox took two wickets each. Jones and Royce Paul also took wickets, but Joseph and Elibox’s economy rates of 1.50 stood out.
Malaki Xavier and Jelani were the only Dominican batsmen to post significant scores, with 37 and 34.
Saint Lucia scored 170 all out before the close of play on Day 1, a lead of 46. Theo Edward hit 67 from 68 balls, finding the boundary 11 times and clearing it once. Tarrique Edward added 31 from 46, with three fours and two sixes, and Leo made a quick 17 from 13 deliveries.
On the second day, Dominica were dismissed for 148, giving Saint Lucia a target of 103 to win. Stephan Pascal made 35 for the hosts, and Jedd Joseph made 28. Jones took 3-20, Tarrique Edward 3-41, with Gaston, Elibox, Paul and Kethan Charlemagne also taking wickets.
Theo Edward compiled 16 runs from 13 balls, Kensely Paul 19 from 17, Leo 40 from 31, inclusive of four fours and three sixes, and Bolton Sayers 20 off 15, as the Saint Lucians won the match inside two days.
