Music Fest Sent Lisi, which seeks to bring new and emerging talent to the fore, is back with a power-packed punch.
Described as the signature event of the south, Music Fest Sent Lisi will showcase exciting youthful talent at the Phillip Marcelin Grounds in Vieux Fort on Saturday, December 20, from 3 pm.
The Youth Star Contest, a pillar of the event, will determine the winner from finalists selected in November. These young artistes will compete in a genre of their choice, including jazz, gospel, dancehall, reggae, calypso, soca, rap, hip-hop, R&B, Dennery segment and Afrobeats.
Ten performers will compete for over $20,000 in cash and prizes and the title of Youth Star of the Year.
Last year’s winner Vic Nation will perform along with J Swain, Travo, Ashe’, Vun, Kristian Lawrence, Zidane, MNR, Wade and Al the Artist, who will also appear in a duet with Eddie Bellas.
Ashe’ who tied for second place last year, believes that the Music Fest platform is a very good one for emerging talent. “Last year was my very first time and I truly enjoyed performing on a stage very different to the calypso arena that I have been a part of for the past few years. I learnt a lot from my peers and enjoyed the camaraderie,” he says.
Wade, a first-timer, says that after supporting a friend who took part last year he felt driven to participate. His song Desire is a fusion of dancehall and R&B. “I believe I have a unique outlook on music, my style is different and I just want to share it with everyone.”
Music Fest Sent Lisi will also feature performers who left their mark in 2025. They include Piton Soca Starz winner Remote, Groovy Monarch Imran Nerdy, Alley Kyatt, Brii Music, Michael Robinson, Arthur Allain and Cooyah, with a special appearance by Bouyon Artiste Reo of Dominica with hits like I know why and Life Sweet.
Organisers anticipate that the young and emerging Saint Lucian artistes, the seasoned performers and guests will deliver lyrics and music to excite and energise patrons in a fun-filled family environment.
