EPIC offers 25th anniversary Caribbean calendar

A Florida-based non-governmental organisation dedicated to protecting the Caribbean’s natural resources is celebrating its silver jubilee with the launch of a 2026 calendar. Environmental Protection in the Caribbean (EPIC) was founded in 2000, with the mission of “protecting the Caribbean environment through research, restoration, education and advocacy”.

Operating in more than 20 territories across the region and with offices in St Maarten and St Vincent and the Grenadines, EPIC is now renewing its pledge to defend some of the most fragile ecosystems on Earth, and to acknowledge the natural beauty of the Antilles.

A January 2 press release from EPIC said that part of their efforts to promote the natural beauty of the archipelago is the launch of a fundraising special anniversary Seas & Scenes calendar. Images are taken from the 2025 Love the Caribbean Photo Contest.

The calendar showcases 12 islands across the Caribbean, spotlighting their diverse coastlines, wildlife and everyday moments that define island life. Each month features island-specific trivia and inspirational quotes, offering insight into the unique environmental and cultural identity of each place represented.

“EPIC’s work has always been built on collaboration, with local partners, volunteers, coastal communities, and supporters across the region,” said Tabitha Stadler, executive director. “This anniversary is a celebration of everyone who has been a part of our mission for a quarter century, and is a symbol of hope for all of us who care about the future sustainability of the Caribbean region and its people.”

Interested individuals can visit epicislands.org/donate until the end of January to make a donation.
