Two people have been charged with drug-related offences following a police search at a residence in Gros Islet that led to the seizure of cannabis resin and approximately US$13 000 in cash.
In a statement issued Monday, the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF) confirmed that officers executed search warrants on February 5, 2026, at premises in Ti Morne, Gros Islet, linked to 35-year-old Lance Alfred, also known as ‘Bolo’, and 36-year-old Tresha Richard.
During the operation, police recovered a quantity of cannabis resin and about US$13 000 in cash. Both individuals were arrested and charged with possession of cannabis resin and possession of cannabis resin with intent to supply.
They appeared before a magistrate on Friday, February 6, and were each granted $1 500 bail.
Police said that due to the large amount of money recovered and the circumstances under which it was found, officers initiated the cash seizure process under Section 29(a) of the Crime Act, on suspicion that the funds are proceeds of criminal conduct.
The RSLPF said the Financial Intelligence Authority has been formally notified and has assumed an active role in the matter, pursuing the cash seizure and conducting further financial investigations.
